The purpose of Newsvine is:

to build a perfectly different, perfectly efficient way to read, write, and interact with the news. Founded by veterans of Disney, ESPN, and other media organizations, the mission of Newsvine is to bring together big and little media in a way which respects established journalism and empowers the individual at the same time. I presume this statement to mean that Newsvine is a new medium in news. A journalistic effort. Gives the little guy as much power as the big one.

In pursuit of this purpose and/or goal I need a press pass. People who have never had a press pass don't know what they have missed. I used to go to Sea World free every year because I had a press pass. Governmental agencies and offices welcomed me because I had a press pass. Restaurants offered free meals because I had a press pass. Lots of places waived fees for entering or enjoying because I had a press pass. The big guys all get them.
I am writing this article instead of making application to Newsvine because I looked at their page with logos and signs, etc. It did not provide a download for a press pass. I also want other Newsviners to realize we are missing out on a good thing. I think we should have press passes. They needn't be handed out freely. Maybe we should qualify for them. Instead of a fig on my vine, give me a press pass, please.
