I need help. I watched the debate last night via CNN.com. This morning I read Chuck Todd's account of the same debate and I am now confused. Is it me, is it Todd, is it others? I saw the debate as nothing like what Chuck Todd said it was. Was Todd talking about debate in the academic sense? Was he giving appropriate weight to the common sense replies of the potential nominees? Is Chuck Todd exhibiting what happens when such a demonstration is viewed by a liberal as opposed to a conservative? I can't figure it out.
Todd says Romney won the debate. I saw Romney as his typical pasty faced prevaricator who will swim with the school as if a shark is after him. Sure he had a few lines for the left and a few for the right but mostly he showed he went where the win blowed.
Todd says Michelle Baughman was second. How so? Oh, Michelle was certainly the most eye catching. She is also beginning to show that she can think straight and that she can put two words together in the proper order. I think too many people are counting her as a buffoon but I am beginning to see the genius and the correctness of some of her views. That doesn't make her second in my view, maybe third or fourth, but definitely not second or better.
Todd wimped out on his lineup and said the Tea Party was Third. I didn't even know they were running. Aren't they the people who want to get rid of all these fakes?
I will call my evaluation LAST READ since Todd seems to think he gets there before everyone else.
Ron Paul was my first pick. Why? Because he answered the questions and not with some applause seeking appeal to the audience. All the "Thank you for your services" were too many. One by a spokesman for the group would have been enough. He tried to explain how he would help solve problems, not how he caters to the various factions who are going to vote.
My second goes to the Black guy and I don't even recall his name. He came off like a Black Ron Paul rather than a black Republican. Since I don't know his name off the top of my head he lacks name recognition and the whole works. He exhibited some speech making and thought skills that will do him well in the future.
In my opinion the rest of the pack was just that, a pack. I will vote for Obama again unless Obama should bow out. If he did I would vote for Ron Paul unless the Democrats run someone better and they haven't even approached me yet.
