Dowser, a much admired and followed Citizen Journalist on Newsvine.com has been chosen to receive the very first Publisher's Award for her article "I Put My Money Where My Heart Lies..." Dowser is a geologist who lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her husband and son. Dowser has written many articles pertaining to her vocation but has also covered several widely varied subjects. Her contributions to the Newsvine Community are many not the least of which was hosting a VineMeet in Louisville that got rave revues and brought a substantial group of Newsviners together in person. It is expected that Dowser will continue to be a strong voice for knowledge and understanding within her real and on line Community.

The following statement is from The Free Press Publisher: "As I stated earlier the criteria for winning this Award will be mine and mine alone. It is not based on journalistic principals alone. In this case I chose Dowser's article because it displayed her heartfelt desire to bring facts and first hand reporting to the attention of the widest audience possible. Although the article mixes fact with opinion, including a political opinion, it also is a strong indicator of Dowsers ability to present material that people from any viewpoint can appreciate."

Dowser will receive $25 in recognition of this Award. This money is not meant as enticement for more but rather as a statement of the Publisher "Putting His Money Where His Heart Lies..."
