This logo is from a day long past but it might rise to some legitimate use if our President and his Staff can get this country on an even keel again. Nothing wrong with green elephants. Maybe I could go back to saying I am a fiscal conservative and a social liberal. I always wanted to see one of them in office. Please notice that elephants have trunks much longer than camels' noses. How better to get under the tent?
SourceIf it happens, you heard it here first. After watching 60 minutes last night I was roundly confused as to what that whole appearance was about. Sometime in the middle of the night I awoke to what must be the answer. There was the President and the still Secretary of State answering questions we all wanted answered and would have asked ourselves given the chance. No surprising answers but a very obvious closeness of views between these two Americans who are currently at the top of our political pile. But why did they make this appearance? What did either the President or Hillary Rodham Clinton have to gain? What could they lose? Was this just a blatant endorsement of Hillary for President in 2016? Was it a fond farewell to a cohort going into retirement? Was there some deeper reason, some ultimate purpose, some need for the future that only this show of strength and cooperation between the once rivals could help reinforce?
My first thought was that the President might wish Hillary could remain as Secretary of State but her replacement is already in the wings? Maybe she will be made Ambassador to China. Wouldn't that be a blast? Could that be helping to position her for 2016? How would that work? She could only be Ambassador for a couple of years at most. Would that improve her resume and still provide time for the campaign that would need to follow? Probably not.
Wait a minute! What if Clinton were appointed to take Holder's place at Justice. Attorney General might just be the ticket to keep her in the public eye while affording her a chance to show what she can really do. Can't you just see her prosecuting all those bankers and CEO's and senior politicians who could be proved to have or have had a hand in the fleecing of our country? She could follow the money and see who made off with the billions wasted or lost in Iraq and/or Afghanistan. She could find out who was juggling the books at our biggest financial institutes. She could help jail the over creative businessmen who have used their corporate power to undercut American National Security. She might even uncover the millions that have illegally lined the pockets of any wayward legislator, judge or public servant. Wouldn't that be something?
Don't give me the negatives without good reason on these thoughts. I would rather hear about the great possibilities. Can you see some merit to making Hillary our top law enforcer? Could she be the answer to a lot of problems while remaining very much in the public eye? What do you think?
